      Hi asha. That’s a really interesting question and has caused quite a lot of discussion in my office!

      The dictionary says that it is altering a living creature’s DNA by any artificial means. Where the complication comes is what counts as artificial. You could argue that this is something as simple as breeding two big dogs to make a bigger dog; or that it is something as complicated as taking the DNA out of one animal in a laboratory and inserting it into another animal.
