Really proud, happy and excited. It is always great to find out something new, especially when everyone wants to know the answer, but no one has done the experiment yet.

The odd thing is that a lot of science does not actually address common questions – we chip away at our own little bit of science, but then every now and then it’s as if someone has suddenly turned the lights on in a dark room, and it all makes sense (for a while – then new questions start to appear)

Excited! Really excited. It’s a strange feeling, because all the little things that we all do in our labs contribute to a much bigger picture. It’s like everyone contributes a puzzle piece, and together, science is moving forward. Each piece is a huge achievement though 🙂

It’s a great feeling when you’ve been working at something for a long time and finally come to an answer. You can’t wait to tell anyone who will listen to you 🙂 and will even try to tell people who won’t. And every time you find an answer it creates new questions which you become really excited to then start looking at.
