• Question: Hey Mike, as you are asking for the grant to develop your work with the human heart, my question is after your work with the heart, will you stick to biological science or move onto different sciences?

Hey Zobell95, after I have finished my PhD on the heart I still want to continue researching the biological sciences. At school I was always better at Biology and Chemistry, than Physics and Maths. They were the subjects that interested me the most and the ones that got me really thinking. I still have a year until I finish at Oxford. In that time I have to finish experiments and write a thesis, this is a detailed report on all my work from the 4 years, it’s around 50,000 words. Not looking forward to that! Anyway, after that I haven’t decided what I want to do. I can stay in the lab I work in at the moment and carry on my work on the heart. Or I want to go and work for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This is the charity that pays for me to research the heart. They do some great work and I’m really interested to try and help them spread the message about looking after your heart. So either way, I will stick with biology! What’s your favourite science at school?
