Heya, it has it’s ups and downs. At school I sometimes got teased for being ginger. It can be hard, when you are young to just take this kind of teasing, but I ignored it. I like being ginger because it makes me special. I stand out and people remember me. I often find that people are better at remembering my name (than maybe I am at remembering them…opps). But standing out is really good for a scientist. People remember a talk you gave because of your hair…and hopefully the science too. I’m never ashamed to be ginger and I’m proud to be different!
