      no, we don’t develop the software, although we do add some things to it to calculate stuff or make measurements. The software that I use is Amira (http://www.amira.com/) You can download a free trial of that. We then use Matlab (general purpose scientific maths software) and ImageJ to work with our data.

      Our data is many Gb in size, so it takes a beefy computer to work with it. The 3D software was mainly developed for medical applications, but it’s great for materials too.
